Imagining New Worlds
Create art by transforming everyday “trash” into intentional compositions with Steph Woodworth!
Service Description
This beginner-friendly Collage Workshop is open to participants ages 10 and up and is perfect for anyone curious about exploring colour, shape, and creativity which reduces waste by using found materials. No prior art experience is needed, but please note that we will be using sharp tools (scissors and knives) to create the collages - tool safety and awareness is a must! In this hands-on three-hour session, participants will learn how to select and combine found materials, and how to build compositions through layering. Together, we’ll move beyond what already exists, using collage to create surreal, dreamlike scenes that play with scale, texture, and unexpected combinations. You’ll be introduced to simple approaches to composition and storytelling, then supported as you create your own imaginative collage work. This is a space to experiment, take risks, and follow your curiosity. Each participant will create and take home: - At least one post-card sized collage artwork - Found materials to create works at home - Optional: contribute a collage to Steph’s mini-gallery at MSYK All materials are provided.
