What is it?
Don't Fake It, Make It, is a 5-month youth entrepreneurship program for business product, prototyping and production. This program will assist youth (ages 15-30) in building and refining their products in a low-risk environment while gaining knowledge and experience to take the next steps in their entrepreneurial journey.
How can you get involved?
We’re looking for mentors to provide guidance and advice to youth wanting to build and develop products. Your role as a mentor will be to support their skill building journey and act as a sounding board.
How much time will it take?
Mentors must be prepared to commit at least 1 hour a week (4hrs/month) to the project during the 5 months. Youth and their mentors will coordinate their own meeting times.
How will mentors be selected?
Mentors must be skilled makers- be that in the form of creative development, fabrication, building, prototyping, beading, sewing, etc. Final selections will be made based on the needs of the participants.
How will mentors be compensated?
Each mentor will receive an honorarium of $1,500 over the course of the program.
