Cyanotypes (Sun Prints)

Make art with sunlight and nature

30 Canadian dollars
Makerspace YK

Service Description

Join us for a hands-on cyanotype (sunprint) workshop where you’ll create beautiful blue-toned prints using natural materials and sunlight. Cyanotypes are a photographic printing process that uses UV light to produce striking blue images. No experience needed. We’ll start by learning how to mix and coat your own paper with light-sensitive solution. Then we’ll head out on a short nature walk to gather leaves, plants, and found objects to use in your designs. Back at the makerspace, you’ll arrange your compositions and expose them to sunlight to create your prints. Along the way, you’ll learn the full cyanotype process from start to finish and leave with a series of unique prints inspired by the natural world.
