Precision-cut poms for cozy creations

20 Canadian dollars
Makerspace YK

Service Description

Join us for a hands-on workshop where traditional craft meets digital fabrication! In collaboration with Aurora College Research Institute and Makerspace YK, this session will guide you through the process of creating your own custom fur pom poms using the laser cutter. You’ll learn how to prepare and safely cut fur using laser-cut templates, assemble and finish your pom poms, and explore creative ways to use them, from hats and keychains to home décor. Participants will experiment with fur offcuts and other materials from our textile area while discovering how digital tools like the Epilog FusionEdge CO₂ laser cutter can be used for precision cutting and small-scale production. No prior experience with laser cutting is required, and our facilitator will guide you through every step. All materials are provided.
