New Member Portal

Launching April 2026

We are transitioning to a new user and member portal this April. This new system has been developed over the past year and we are excited to launch it.

The portal will introduce new features, including upcoming 24/7 memberships, and will allow users to track their membership, completed orientations, sign-ins, and volunteer hours all in one place. It also supports a shift toward a more member-run space by increasing access for members.

As part of this transition, all users will need to create a new account, even if they have previously completed an orientation.

Create your new account: my.makerspaceyk.com

Once your account is created, completed orientations will be transferred:

  • This process is not automatic and may take up to one week. Users will be contacted when their new sign-in fob is ready for pickup. This will replace the existing orientation training card and will be used to access the space.

  • Completed orientations can be viewed on the profile page within the new portal.

  • Some earlier orientations from 2022–2023 (such as Hackspace Orientation) have been phased out and will not be transferred.

Starting April 1, 2026, all orientation registrations will take place through the new portal.

Current members will be contacted separately with next steps. Please do not use the membership feature in the new portal at this time.

A monthly in-person member open house will also launch in April for those interested in learning more about membership and its benefits.

What's Happening?

Membership Changes on the Horizon!

This spring we will start shifting to a member-run model to steward the makerspace. This will enable members increased access through 24/7 memberships, avenues to generate income through contract opportunities, and make space for veteran members to share their skills and knowledge with new members!

This will be an important step to ensure we can keep the makerspace going and still offer affordable rates for memberships.
