Organize and chair board meetings.

Represent Makerspace at strategic meetings and events, effectively communicating its mission, core values, and activities in alignment with the Board’s views.

Maintain a positive, constructive, and professional relationship between the Board and the Executive and Co-Director.

​​

Lead the development and revision of guiding policies and strategic plans.

The Treasurer leads Makerspace’s financial strategy and oversight in collaboration with the Executive Director/co-directors, provides financial guidance to the Board, and ensures annual filings and financial statement reviews or audits are completed.

• Signing Officer and Secondary Bank Authorizer

• Finance Committee Chair

• Serves on Executive and HR Committees

• Co-develops Annual Operating Budget

• Ensure Submission of Required Tax Filings

• Financial Management and Reporting Oversight

• Facilitate Board Level Financial Decision Making

The Director of Volunteer Engagement is responsible for oversight of the Makerspace YK volunteer community. This role involves recruiting, onboarding and communication with volunteers to ensure they are engaged and can make meaningful contributions to Makerspace YK.

• Review and Update Volunteer Policy 

The Facility Director is responsible for building management of the condo units owned by Makerspace YK and general facility management and maintenance oversight. They also serve on the as the Condo Board rep.

• Keyholder Access and Responsibility

The Vice President supports the President in providing leadership for Makerspace, assumes and/or shares the President’s duties.

• Board Meeting Duties - Minutes and Backup Chair

The Director of Fundraising plays a key leadership role in securing the financial sustainability of the organization by developing and managing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor/sponsor relationships, and building strategic partnerships. They will collaborate with the Executive/Co-director to grow revenue through donations, grants, sponsorship, and community engagement initiatives.

​The Director of Membership and is responsible for managing, supporting, and growing the membership community at the makerspace. This role focuses on fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for members, addressing their needs, and ensuring they have a positive experience.

• Review and Update Membership Polciies

The Shopspace Director leads the Shopspace Committee to ensure continued maintenance and space management to keep the woodshop operational. Coordinates regular shop orientations with the shopspace committee for users.
